Richard and his team just completed a garage conversion for us. The Abbey team are a pleasure to have around the house and we will certainly be using them again.
Richard’s team at Abbey Building did a brilliant job on our loft extension, and we are thrilled with it. The team were lovely to have in the house and left the house each day in a clean state. They were very considerate (important with a new born!), provided sound advice to our questions and completed everything to a high standard. Piers, John & Drew were a pleasure to have completing our building works, and I could not recommend Abbey Building highly enough!
Abbey building recently completed a double story rear extension for us. We initially contacted Abbey about a year before we even had planning permission, and even at that stage, Abbey were happy to prepare a document detailing what would need to be done and roughly how much it would cost - no other builder we spoke to was willing to do this. When we eventually got planning permission, I spoke to several builders (including Abbey), but Abbeys quote was by far more thorough than all the other builders. We were very worried from reading all the horror stories about builders who change their quote in the middle of the project, so we were very pleased that Abbey did not change anything on their quote for the full duration of the project.
We found the team at Abbey very friendly and professional. We were always made aware of the next steps so we knew what to expect, and we really did not need to manage anything, just let them do their thing.

We had just bought a house in the Hatfield area, we engaged Abbey Building Services & Maintenance for a quote and instantly from that initial conversation with Richard, it led to us going ahead to utilising them for a full house refurbishment along with a rear ground floor extension. Unlike some other builders we had engaged, with Abbey Building Services we felt an instant rapport and as we also shared some common interests it made it a no brainer for us to utilise them.
Considering we had engaged them over the pandemic, and with all the building supply chaos going on, Richard and team were able to keep us posted, and ensured everything was ordered in advance of us needing them (steels etc). We were kept up to date and were able to pay in milestone increments

Richard and his team have done a fantastic job of rebuilding our home. They have created a space that is perfect for our young family. They have been a joy to work with and we can't recommend them enough.
Richard was brilliant. We chose Abbey due to Richard's responsiveness and his attention to detail. Abbey completed a side and rear extension for us in 2018/2019, and we are so happy with it. We trusted Richard to make decisions on our behalf or guide us through things that we knew little about. His team were lovely people to have in the house and worked to a high standard. If we had any concerns they were dealt with quickly. While the quote was slightly more than others, it was comprehensive and it didn't change. I would highly recommend Abbey Building.
